Which stone suits your kitchen?

Choose by how you cook, not only by how it looks.

The island: the heart of the kitchen

A stone island adds work surface, lets people sit around the cooking and becomes the focus of the room. It can be a rectangle, an oval or a free form, in any colour: from white and cream to green, black and gold.

Six things to check before you choose

  1. Plan the layout

Exact dimensions and cut positions before you call the fabricator. Whole slabs, straight lines and fewer cuts make a countertop last longer.

  2. Choose by use

Cook a lot? Choose a strong material that does not absorb stains and is easy to maintain, like porcelain stone or quartz.

  3. Fit the household

A kitchen island adds work surface and seating, and brings the cooks and the diners together.

  4. Work out the budget

Countertop area, island included, times the price per square metre. Natural stone is stunning, but costs more.

  5. Check the warranty

Work with a company that installs itself and guarantees the countertop in transport and after installation.

  6. Indoor or outdoor

For outdoor kitchens, granite withstands sun and rain and does not absorb liquids. Hebron stone is not suitable for outdoor worktops.
